Instead, it searches through records that have already been created by the search engine’s indexing software. This is information made up of text, links, URLs, and yes you’ve guessed it…keywords.

If you do this correctly you will get more online leads. Ignore them and chances are, you’ll disappear into the annals of search engine obscurity, never to be found again.

Here are some examples:
Information – They’re searching for information
Repair – They have a broken crown, tooth, or denture and are looking for a repair solution
Problem – They have a dental problem that they need to rectify
Price – They’re searching for the costs of particular treatments
Nearby locality – They’re looking to find a local dentist
Treatment comparison – They want to make treatment comparisons to find out which one is better for them
Buy – They’re looking to purchase a dental product
Solution –They have a dental issue that they need to find a solution to.
and so on and so forth…..
Once you’ve put your thinking cap on, you should now have two pages or two separate lists. Great stuff!
Step 3 – Combining your dental content keywords lists
The third and final step is to combine those two lists. To do this take a seed word (in this case the treatments you offer) and combine it with a motivational or event-based word (eg, those on your second list)
As an example, let’s take the seed word ‘dental implant‘. You could have

Dental implant problem
Dental implant dentist in (insert your locality here)

As you can see, these are probable dental content keywords that people are likely to be searching for to find answers. This can be done for each and every treatment in a kind of rinse-and-repeat format. Very soon, you should have an expansive list of keywords that you can use.
The point is that by compiling dental content keywords this way and using them in your online dental content you’ve already made a connection with the searcher. The reason? Because you’ve identified the triggers that have caused them to carry out that search.
So, by providing them with a specific service or answer to their dental problem, there’s a good chance that they’ll be far more perceptive to taking action.
“Okay,” I hear you say, “So I now have my keywords. How do I add it into my dental website content so that the search engines and any potential patients find it?”
The answer is to try to place them naturally throughout the body of the text and in prominent positions. These include titles, sub-titles, meta-descriptions, and of course the body of the text.
You see, the search engines are pretty sophisticated beasts and you don’t really have to do too much other than those examples listed above. For instance my main key phrase in this post is ‘dental content keywords‘. If you look, I’ve already got that exact key phrase in the title and in the very first sentence. I’ve also used it sparingly throughout the body of the text and it’s also in one of my sub-headings. Hopefully, if someone types in my exact phrase ‘dental content keywords‘ then I should appear in the search engines somewhere.
A word of advice…..
When you’re looking at keywords it’s advisable to steer clear of more generic key phrases. For example, although the term ‘dental implants‘ is a keyword, the competition for that keyword is huge. Therefore the chances of you getting ranked highly for that phrase are minimal and besides – it isn’t very targeted.
Conversely, if you had the keyword phrase ‘dental implant dentist in (insert your location here)‘ then straight away it’s way more targeted. That’s good for you because those people who are searching for this particular key phrase are probably searching directly for you or your immediate online competition.
With this in mind, let’s look at ways in which you can use your dental content keywords effectively.
Blog posts
It’s surprising how many dental practices don’t actually run a blog on their site, yet the advantages of a well-written, well-maintained blog for businesses are highly documented. So how about building a post around each key phrase? In doing so you’re going to build an authority site full of useful information which the search engines and any potential patients are going to love. What’s more, as your site gains credibility in the eyes of Google, then it’s more likely to rank higher too.
As an example let’s go back to dental implants and take the term ‘dental implant repair‘. You could for instance build a blog around ‘ How a dentist conducts a dental implant repair‘ or ‘The pros and cons of dental implant repair‘. Whatever you decide, keep it patient centred, patient-friendly, and above all make it informative.
Procedural pages
Another way to use your key phrases are by writing procedural pages for each treatment. This way you can take several key phrases for a particular treatment and sprinkle them throughout the content. Make your procedural/treatment pages informative and a place where potential patients can go to get useful information, and you’ll be on to a winner.
On your home page
Finally, as your home page is the main page of your website, it makes sense that you’d use a selection of dental content keywords woven throughout the text. Not only will it drive traffic to your site, but more importantly it will drive traffic to your main page where you can then look to persuade them that you’re the right dental clinic for their needs.
